About Me

My name is Michelle Everson and I am a lecturer in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota.  I also serve as a consultant for Statistics.com.  I like to find and share news stories with my statistics students that relate to some of the things I’m very interested in:  technology, education, and real-life examples of the use of statistics in everyday life.

In addition to sharing resources and articles here, I hope this blog will be a place where I can reflect on my own teaching and engage in dialog with others about teaching-related issues.  I teach in the classroom and online, and teaching is a passion for me.  I’m always thinking about new activity ideas and new things I can do in my classrooms to help my students learn.  I often feel that I learn so much more from my students than they learn from me, and I think that is why I enjoy teaching so much.  Even when I teach the same course multiple times, I never have the same experience twice.

  1. Hi Michelle,
I am in the process of getting through a graduate degree that has me immersed in technology. I never imagined trying to create a blog but I am in the process of doing so and came across your site. Thanks so much for your post regarding your online course- it is indeed a new frontier and so far I am enjoying the process very much.

May I ask a question- how does one leave a comment on your site when reading one of your blog posts? I am still in the process of figuring out how this all works. Have a great day, PN

    • Hi PN,

When a new person attempts to leave a comment, I have to approve it first (as I just did). From now on, however, I think you should be able to leave a comment for any post simply by entering information in the comments area below the post (or clicking on the comment button should you see one).

      Does that make sense?

      Michelle
